Dissertation - R.I.P

Yeahhhrrrrr!! :)

After days of stressing and not sleeping properly I have completed my 7000 words dissertation.
I know that 7000 is not a lot compared to other courses, but to me yes, yes it bloody damn is!.
And it is finally over!

Well unless I fail Hahahhaha

Distracted

I've been very distracted lately.
I've also been on this cleaning thing too. I'm really on for cleaning the house for some reason, and I don't mean bucket and mop. I mean black bags and have a massive throw out of old useless things.
I started with the front room the other day, and I'm slowly doing bits by bit, cleaning, wiping the dust throwing what I can..."What I can" means that since I'm still living in my parents house they still have a lot of things in the house that belongs to them. I mean my parents loved buy little things that sit on shelves...and so we have shelves of little things...like bottle of wine, glass decoration things...some of which are very chinese style, oh and we have a lot of chinese "God's" things, whatever you call them. Oh we also have a lot of souvenirs from holidays whenever a family member goes. So baically junk. I also found a candle collection at hold, all of which have been burnt a bit, so I threw them out! Hahaha

anyway more of what I discover later...but a lot of memories :D

I'm sorry you just have to put with my my depressive whine for now.
I'm a summer person, Winter makes me feel depressive. So does dissertation!

My Goldfish's

I just spent over an hour staring at my goldfishes. I actually do this a lot and I find it therapeutic. I had three of them, the sad thing is that one of them – sonic died a few (6) months ago, and I have this feeling that another one - Bubbles might die soon too. It isn’t as lively as it used to be. Kind of sad really and that’ll mean It’s just going to be one - Shadows left. I don’t think I’m going to buy another one, so It’ll be lonely for a while or maybe I’ll put t into the pond…or it might just die slowly like the other ones did. Sad Times.

Instant Noodle Coin Purse

This is from Hong Kong. Something that my sister saw and thought of me...why? Well
I really like these noodles, these and the Shin Ramyun noodles (Korean ramen noodles)
But these are good too, they are a know brand to a lot of Chinese people...I also call them 'Dolly noodle' or 'dolly face' :D
I think my favourite flavours are the plain sesame oil, chicken one or xo. I don't really like the seafood ones :|
Anyway what I found amazing was that the back had the cooking instructions :)

Mini Minnie Hand

They are from Hong Kong from those ball machines that you put money in and twist the handle and a ball comes out with a goodie...love these things. I'm such a kid and easily pleased ^_^

Do you know someone that you have known for a few years now and the only time you talk to him/her is when you bump into him/her randomly? Or maybe once a year when someone organises something you both turn up to?

It’s almost like you’re strangers, but not exactly because you smile, say hi, hug each other, start chatting away and have jokes.

I have someone that I’ve know for 5 years now. With everything changing I think I’m going to miss those random times.

Stress Bun

This is one of the keyring accessory things I have on my USB. It's a stress ball design that does not look like one.
It looks like a bun with a glaze chocolate drawing of a face (a girl with her hand covering her mouth) but its not real as it is not eatable! It feels soft and smells like the butter/coconut bread.

I'm constantly killing my bun whilst writing my dissertation, that has become a chore! I feel sorry for her, She also makes me hungry =.="

Distancing Myself

I find that I'm distancing my self from people recently. Almost like I've lost interest in socialising, and I don't just mean the friends you have in Uni but also my really close friends for years.

I noticed that it's not a thing that happened so suddenly. But a phase that I go through a few times a year. Its not a personal thing or anything, as I said I do that to my really close friends too.
I think I just need so me space. Sometime to just chill at home and literally do nothing and catch up on myself.

I've also been.."busy?" well trying to get some uni work done because I really have been slacking during the x-mas holidays. I still have yet to pick up the dissertation I left since the last draft hand in...and that is all to it, there is nothing to say more than dissertation! But I have done some studio work, nothing near finished but getting there with some outcome to it :)

Reusable Bag - Police Hat

My aunty works in the Hong Kong Police Department and they have a souvenir shop and she got us (my cousins, sisters and me) a environmentally friendly reusable bag. This is the one that I got, My little brothers one is a different style...(style are according to the police status or something) this one is the one that female police women wear, and being a female got this style.

Inside the hat...(the opening is under the hat) folds out a violet colour bag (Its a mega Plus ^.^) However the material is super thin!!! I've used a few times only to carry a few little things :)
I could also wear the hat too (as a fancy dress or something) if I can figure a way to pin it to my head :D

Keep the environment friendly Reduce, Reuse and Recycle...I do try my best to...even though I admit that I really like to collect rubbish >.<"

Nail Art Stamp - Pink Nails with White Rose

I gave myself 4 White Roses...It has no meaning to it. I just like white against the baby pink. I also did this a few days ago, so they are a little chipped :S

This was something I did really quickly. I used Barry M. 309 Strawberry as a base coat. I then used the stamping method for the white rose, then a final clear top coat.

Okay so the stamping method I used and have used and mentioned before in the post Nail Art Stamp - Lace style tip

Not really knowing much about it, I was introduced by a friend who does this nail things...It's by a company called Konad. The 'tools' needed is a rubber stamp, scrapper, metal plate and nail polish.

They use a special type of polish - it has a thicker consistency and can't be used as normal polish. There are reviews saying that normal polishes work...and having tested it some actually do, But, Yes But...the effect is not as bold or strong. So I guess you don't have to get the special polish. But you will have to still get the metal plates, rubber stamp and scraper...(ebay will sell them - the price will vary)

The process (to me) is very much like screen printing (those who know the process will know).
The polish is like the ink, the scraper is the squeegee (if that is the name?)...

The only hard thing about it is knowing the correct position of where you want it to go on your nail..I mean it takes getting used to, and I've not done it that many times yet to have gotten used to it yet.

Penny Jar

So......to avoid doing my dissertation for uni I decided to..count the pennies in my Penny Jar :D

I'll likely to do anything but actually write it. I just want it to be over. I'm getting really bored of it and not motivated into it. But enough of the boring subject...

Pennies...Yes I've got this jar...well it's actually a little red plant pot and 2 of my mum's vase's filled with pennies :D Yes I use my mum's plant pots and vase as a penny jar...I dislike plants and flowers as they'll end up dying so I use it for other purposes. I used to use the plant pots to hold my pen's, paint brushes or a water pot when I painted..I got told off for this :S
But now everyone just uses the vase's at home as a penny jar, because I know I'm not the only one throwing them in!!

I guess having a penny jar isn't a bad idea if you don't like having coins in your pocket (for guys, as most girls have a coin purse or some sort) it helps save money I guess.

So sorting 1p's, 2p's and 5p's in to separate coin bags...£15, not bad!! going to have to take them to the bank and I might just take a trip to the supermarket to buy some more junk food :D

Yesterday night I went to another of my mates gig at The Bull and Gate down Kentish Town (London).

They are taking part in a competition for Emergenza festival and last-night they got into the semi-finals YAYYY!! They came 2nd place with about 10 votes off.
I don't think the voting thing was really fair, it was kinda based on how many people you got down there voting for you, which really sucks. But still getting into the semi-finals is amazing!

This is pretty clever. I mean it's advertising the job and seeing if the person is qualified for the job.

Frustration!!

It's really annoying when your searching for something specific and you can't find it.

I was doing some project research on the web and I had this...what I think is an amazing design/idea... and I just couldn't find it on the web (it's sort of like a product or thing)
So I resulted to find something close enough to the point. But there were problems, it's all international! damn you China! and USA! Why do you do everything!! Okay maybe they do it in the UK too, but it's not what I want.

Another thing is they only sell in batches of 100+ I mean what am I gonna do with the other 99?? Sell it on ebay? Hahaha maybe but still. I also have no patience. I can not wait a whole month! I need it now!

I hate how I lack self motivation.

My Hair Did

First of all yes I had to blank my face out. It was taken really late in the evening after I went out on a days mission to uni and shopping through the rain! I also wanted it to be more violet colour but I guess my hair doesn't take the blue a much as the red...I like the colour a lot but I think the colour makes me look more pale? o.O"

The length is about 4 inches shorter than what it used to be...The man cut too much off :( But it's still at an okay length I guess. The style is more or less the same but with more layers. I'm still getting used to the length.
On the positive my hair does not get trapped deep under my jacket and scarf so I'm almost attacking it and looking like a crazy women. I'm also not lying back on it and keep pulling on it so I can move. It also makes sleeping more easy! :)

My Earrings and piercing

My most recent new Earrings :D
I really like the layering and the slightly crossed curved shape it has to it.

Oh I also have a few piercing. This is of my right ear I have 3 as you can see, and on my left I have 4, 2 on the top on the cartilage bone and two on the bottom lobe like the right ear.
I noticed that it has been over a year since my last one, this is because I limited myself to one a year, and my mummy said I had too much, which is not true, but I said I'd take a years gap of no piercings. I also noticed that it's been just over a year of my tattoo :)

Oh one last thing I also dyed my hair recently...okay it was before Christmas, its now a slight tint of red...or how it used to be...I also cut my hair last week, but more on this later :)

He uses a single sheet of paper-mainly A4 to create his 3D models that have a part of it still connecting to the paper.

Mouse in the House

I recently...it's like just over a week now, that I saw a mouse in the House, Not my house a friends.

I went to visit my friend who came back form Hong Kong for a few weeks. So I stayed in her house for a few days in the country side.
The house belongs to her mother, and her family have not returned to the UK or house for 8 months, hard to say that there won't be any mice. I mean the only rooms she took the dust sheets off and cleaned a little in was in the kitchen, bathroom and her bedroom.
Our first reactions was to jump on the kitchen desktops...yes we were there for a while and played the game-the floor is made of lava!!! We then ran upstairs and went on the web to find a number to call. This was around 11 in the evening and the pest guy was to arrive the next morning. We were glued together the whole night!!

We didn't want to deal or see the mouse again so we got my mates cousin to come over :D In my understandable, none detailed graphic nightmare... it turns out it is a recent (don't know what that meant, but I didn't want to know too much) so it was easy to get rid of :D

Thankful!!! No more mice for me...I think mouse, rats look alike creatures should cease to exist!!!

Oh something else I need to add. I don't get why they would put pictures of mice, rats etc on websites...like we were searching for pest control people and they would have pictures of the mice and rats!! I mean FML I don't need to see images or the real thing!!

My little Six Minutes of Pleasure - Chupa Chups Relax

My sister got me this from Hong Kong a while ago. She knows I like the most random things like this.

At the back of it it reads:

To be honest I though the lollies would be smaller but they are just the normal mini ones. But I still very much love it.
I've eaten about 3 of them already. They do taste a little citrus, but mainly sweet. It basically tastes like a really sweet grape fruit. Which I like :)

Well as you can see it works by the paper absorbing the ink from the bottle and passing it through the numbers-date.

I got to say that it's a pretty good design, different and creative.

Pink Dolphin?

Apparently it exists?? This Pink Dolphin is the only one that exists in the world. It was discovered in Louisiana USA.
It is entirely pink from tip to tail and has reddish eyes indicating it’s albinism. The skin appears smooth, glossy pink and without flaws.

This pop up book is amazing! I was looking for this book in stores, the used to have it waterstaones, but they have been discontinued in the UK so you can't buy it anymore. But without fair, we have Amazon so I ordered it online :) I think it is worth what I paid for.

It has been amazingly design and constructed with so much detail. It looks so delicate...I actually don't let my little brother touch it! I was also really careful with opening it when it arrived, that and some pieces needed a bit of 'a lift' to expand properly. I have a few more pop-up books at home but this is one of the best ones. This one may also not have as much pages as other pop-up books but with the prestige detailing on the pop ups like the photo I've taken-there is a little bug inside the tree trunk! I don't think it is possible to get bored of this book, I mean every time I look at this book I always stare at a page for a while, it fascinates me. I would love to be able to produce something like this.

The book is a poetry of a snail making its journey around. My sister asked why the book was all white, I don't know the exact reason but I thought that it was because it reflects on the idea of the snails trail. I also think that if there was colour in the page it would be too much on a page especially with the detailed paper crafting on the page. However on the last page in the reflection in the 'water' mirror there is a little colour.

Keira Knightley is Hot!

In my opinion Keira Knightley is hot! Okay she may not be as hot as models or other actresses and what not, but she is very pretty. She has the nice/strong English facial features.

I don't like the way she talks, but that's her I guess. She isn't an Amazing actress if you was to compare her to lets say Angelina Jolie (who is Hottttt). Especially in Domino and was okay in Pride and Prejudice, but that might be because I love Pride and Prejudice. Atonement was pretty good too...I can't remember what else I've watched. I also don't think that she has so much of the sophisticated look to be the face of Chanel.

Grey Leopard Print Nails

So for the base colour I used the nude brown tinted, sort of mauve but almost beige-ish polish.
(The same one I used as a base in the Nail Art Stamp - Lace Style Tip)

I then used the Barry M, Grey 293 for the centre of the leopard print and normal Black polish.

I did a quick, step-by-step when I first tried out the leopard print design

When I do the Leopard print design I tend to paint it so that it is on one finger skip one then the next one. It would also be on the same fingers on the other hand.

Shanghai China Expo 2010

I heard a lot about this Shanghai Expo during the summer of 2010.
The Expo is usually used to promote the countries strength as a world power. China this year exhibited a lot of their strength in technology based graphics. Also reflecting on a lot of their culture.

An aunty of mine who visited the expo got this key ring. I think it's cute :)

Pocket Watch

I got this pocket watch a really long time ago, but the battery died and I only got it replaced a few days ago. Yayy me! ^.^

I bought this from Camden Market but I'm pretty sure you can get pocket watches from anywhere now.

Depressed Bitch?? Maybe just a little...

I sometimes think I sound like a depressed bitch, right?
I can assure you that I’m not. I don’t think that I am anyways…
I guess it’s just easier to find unhappy thoughts to relate to than anything. Just like how unhappy memories are easier to find than the happy joyful moments.

I was told that I don’t really express my emotions enough and that I have a “Poker Face” because I hide behind a smile so well.
I don’t think that I hide behind my smile, I like to think that I’m optimistic and that things will work out due to time and patience.
So there is no need to dwell on the negative unhappy side of things but to look out at the positive side, and being grateful for what you have.

But I guess I’m a little greedy with sharing my deep thoughts, emotions and feelings.
I just don’t like to load my shit to people that don’t need to know about it. I also believe that my so-called “issues” are minor and nothing compared to what I know of other peoples.
Sometimes, in my opinion their issues are just them thinking too much into it, and need to stop and step back for a bit. I sometimes think that they rely on other people too much.

When I feel down I like to take long walks, listen to my ipod really loud, Sleep for hours, Paint and decorate my nails, take a long Shower or bath, Bake biscuits or Cupcakes and Eat it. Clean, (I used to) Swim…the list is endless, it really depends on your interest.
Some people prefer to have company, I however like to spend time to myself and I put my phone on silent and leave it in the other room.

I like artists and their songs for their lyrics and meaning. I got to admit I do like the sad soppy songs, I also like songs with a good beat to 'bop' to or a hard base to dance to.

Another year goes by 2010 - 2011

I hate to believe that it’s now 2011, it felt like Christmas and New Year has really crept up upon me. I remember my gullible innocence being 10 living life carelessly without any worries in the world.

Not to dwell too much of my childhood or my memorable past…What has changed since 2010?? Well, so much, too much in the matter of time that seemed so short. It was only like yesterday that I celebrated New Years with a group of university friends down New Cross- South London. This year I wanted a mellow New Year and stayed in with a few close friends.

The thought of graduation this summer scares me. I mean yes graduating means finally being able to say “I have a degree no more education!”, slaving away coursework and deadlines. Life without university is almost like not having something anymore after going through education from the age of 5. Total independence, a job, waking up at moderate hours everyday…I mean I’m not quite sure which direction I want to go into yet. All I know is that I’ve given myself a years deadline to get somewhere in Design, and if not its back to university for a year to be certified to be a teacher. And then hopefully I’d get somewhere and maybe even teach internationally.

During this year I’ve gone through a lot of highs and lows. But I think most importantly learning about myself.
I’ve learnt
…that I can be a strong person, but at the same time stubborn
…who the important people are in my life
…that I never needed to rely on anyone, except for the important people when I needed them
…that I’m quite optimistic
… my confidence has grown around certain people. I am myself around them
…that I’ve never cared about people’s opinion of me…I’m a bitch, yeah well, so what? What are you going to do about that?
…I subliminally provoke people, especially if I know they dislike a specific quality of me
…that I never found it boring to be my own company or entertainment, I quite enjoy it
…that I’ve found joy in the things I did in the past, again
…that I’m quite a loner…and it doesn’t bother me, if anything it’s a simpler life
…that I don’t want to be a housewife unless I have succeeded with a career and over the age of 30

There are other thinks that I’ve learnt too, but thinking about it I knew this all along, but I guess it’s not a lesson learnt right?!
…there are people who really can not keep their mouths shut!
…people chat shit to get what they want
…people play with your emotions
…there are people with different personalities around different people
…the people who cause the most damage are the ones you care for
…people use you without a care of your feelings
…people don’t keep to their word
…some people are not worth your patience, forgiveness or love

I think that this year will be a year full of great challenges and open doors for opportunities to become a greater person. I really hope to become a better person in everyway, to develop and progress to better things.
